Dionne Wesley is the owner and creative Director of DTW. Mrs. Wesley began dance training in Virginia, learning Liturgical, Ballet, and Lyrical with Honey and Rock Dance Institute. Later, she attended Chicago State University where she studied Technical Writing and was taught Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary at Joffrey Dance Institute on the South side of Chicago. Mrs. Wesley received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Norfolk State University where she won Miss English 2008 and received 1st place in the talent competition for Dual Arts. She continued her studies at NSU and received a Masters Degree in Urban Education and English. Mrs. Wesley has been a judge for several modeling agencies, pageants, and semi-pro football/basketball cheerleading teams in Virginia. She has attended and taught at several Christian Dance conferences and she is a mentor for dance ministry leaders across Hampton Roads. She also served as the Director of KARAR Dance Ministry at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church better known as (The Mount) in Chesapeake, Virginia under the leadership of Bishop Kim and Valerie Brown for eight years. In that ministry, she taught Lyrical, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, African, Ballet, Flag, Liturgical, Contemporary, Worship Instruments, Baton and Gymnastics to 168 dancers. She has a very strong passion for the Arts and enjoys finding dynamic talent. She has been in the direction of several dance ministry events such as Elders Gala, New Years Eve Services, Sunday ministry moments, community outreach, weddings, back to school bashes, funerals, dance competitions and she has danced on Bobby Jones Gospel and stage plays.
